Ingredients
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
36 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
¼ cup unsalted butter
¼ cup milk
¾ cup white sugar
3 large eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup pecan halves
Directions
Collect ingredients. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Add caramels, butter, and milk to a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until caramels melt and mixture is smooth, 10–15 minutes. Stop cooking and set aside.
Mix sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in pecans after adding melted caramel. Pour contents into unbaked pie crust.
Bake pastry for 45–50 minutes in preheated oven until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack for 15 minutes to firm filling.
